Administrator with a focus on regional development work

Due to a colleague retiring, we are now looking for an administrator with a genuine interest in regional development work who will have special responsibility for driving and coordinating operational development and various cross-unit issues and tasks.

At our workplace, we work together to create an innovative and sustainable region to live, work, and develop in. We have nice office premises on campus in Östersund and offer a rewarding and exciting job in an environment with drive and broad expertise.

Region Jämtland Härjedalen is a politically governed organization with regional development responsibility. This includes coordinating efforts for regional development work and decisions on the use of state funds for project and business support.

The position as an administrator is within the Area of Sustainable Growth, the unit for Financing and Support. The administrative area of Regional Development also includes the areas of Public Transport and Culture and Education. We operate under the regional development committee. Region Jämtland Härjedalen is also responsible for healthcare. Our organization aims to provide service and create benefits for 130,000 residents.

All work is based on politically established goals and long-term priorities for regional development policy. The state funds we manage should contribute to equal opportunities for place development, increased innovation capacity, renewal ability, entrepreneurship, and skills supply. The funds should also help create accessibility through infrastructure. The funds go both directly to various strategic investments in individual companies and to projects for sustainable regional development. We annually disburse approximately 116 million kronor in support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to being responsible for applications for regional development capital, you will have special responsibility for operational development as well as cross-unit issues and tasks. You will work throughout the flow of managing the funds; from designing calls for support to preparation, follow-up, and evaluation of cases. Prioritization takes place in dialogue with the unit manager and management group for the Area of Sustainable Growth. The content of the position may change over time depending on the needs of the organization. You will work in collaboration with other administrators, analysts, and strategists, as well as independently. The role also involves many external contacts. As a natural part of the work, you will create effective and secure teams for the implementation of the unit's assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with practical experience and an academic education with a focus deemed relevant to the content of the work, such as regional development work, business economics, operational development, or administrative law. It is an advantage if you have experience in several areas since the job is varied and complex.

You need to have an understanding of working in a politically governed organization and state-led assignments, as well as assignments and processes for regional development work and handling cases related to this. You may have gained this through previous work within an authority or municipality responsible for business development issues, or by having led initiatives with public development financing. In the role, you need competence in operational development and a good ability to create collaborations and good relationships. You should also be able to contribute to structure in the organization. You need to understand the logic of project and business support and have knowledge of systematic case management, preferably with experience from case management systems such as Platina and Nyps/My Application.

The work involves driving within the county, so a B driver's license is a requirement. You need to master the Swedish language fluently and at a good level in both spoken and written form. The work involves leading meetings and presentations, both internally and externally, as well as writing texts for documents that will become public.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
